A letter from the founder
I run Utah Grows — the local newsletter for good news, events, and community in the Salt Lake Valley.
I started Utah Grows because I wanted three things I couldn’t find in one place: a single source of local events, a spotlight on great local businesses, and attention for remarkable local people.
I live in South Jordan, and I kept feeling like the best of my own town was invisible — buried under algorithms and headlines designed to keep me scrolling, not to help me belong somewhere.
So I started writing the newsletter I wished existed: a two-minute morning read, five days a week, about what’s happening, what’s opening, and who’s worth celebrating. We lead with good news — not because the bad doesn’t exist, but because the good deserves a camera pointed at it too.
— Tim, founder of Utah Grows

Utah Grows isn’t the news. No crime blotter, no outrage bait, no doomscroll. An algorithm can aggregate events — it can’t be a neighbor.
This is written by one, for all of ours.
Three ways to be part of it — pick whichever sounds like you.
